History related to Hotel Pernik

Hotel Pernik was inaugurated December 31 of 1980. This well-known hotel located in the modern area of the Holguin city owes its name to the homonymous Bulgarian city and it’s benefits of an excellent location, because it allows the access to few minutes until downtown or the displacement toward Guardalavaca beach.

The first hotel room turned into an art gallery was opened in 2002 and honoured the painter Eduardo Roca Salazar. Then the room Cosme Proenza was inaugurated on December 31, 2004. There are two dedicated to the writers Roberto Fernández Retamar and Pablo Armando Fernández, one more to the famous musician Leo Brouwer, one to notable vocalists Esther Borjas and Nelson Domínguez.

Nigel Alexander Hunt

Welcome to my site dedicated to the Hotel Pernik. I am "poco a poco" researching and updating it with the aim to provide as complete as possible record of the hotel's ancient and recent history; bearing in mind that the goings-on today may one day be of historical interest.

My site is NOT the official website of the current hotel operator, and is by no means endorsed by them; but I am grateful for their help with the research.

You can make from this site room reservations through the Bizloco eTravel System operated by Cubaism Ltd.

Best wishes for 2017
